Elves question

I'm pretty sure I haven't seen any elves ig before with facial hair. Are the elves of this world Tolkien style, i.e., fair skinned and beardless? Does one have to shave to acquire elf racial stats?

The Elf racial makeup requirement is to wear ear tips.
