This post is both a reminder of rules that have always existed, accompanied by a warning.

The rule at Terres Rising has always been:

“Smoking - Smoking is permitted in designated areas only. Be sure to properly dispose of any cigarette butts.”

Effective immediately, there will be no more smoking during Terres Rising. You may smoke only in the area of the small shed, which is just past the asphalt area outside of the tavern., where there is that picnic bench. You may not smoke at that picnic bench, and you may not smoke in any buildings. You may not smoke during combat, and must extinguish your cigarette and properly dispose of your butts prior to any combat.

The rule at Terres Rising has always been:

“No Drugs, Alcohol, Theft, or Real Weapons - You will be immediately sent home, and may suffer other penalties and punishments.”

Absolutely no one should be using any illicit drugs or consuming any alcohol during an event. Additionally, no one is permitted to bring any illicit drugs to the game site.

This goes for all Staff, Grunts, Players, and inclusive of anyone and everyone.

There will be no exceptions to this rule. You will be sent home immediately.

*Staff reserved the right to punish anyone who fails to abide by these rules.*

We have been approached by several people expressing some leniency to this rule. One player has even offered to spend his own money to purchase sand-filled buckets.

Accordingly, for this event, we shall entertain this compromise on a trial basis. In the event we still find butts all over the campsite, we will enforce the prior rule.

Pipes and cigars will be permitted in any area.

Cigarette smoking will continue to be prohibited during combat. However, smoking will be permitted in these four designated smoking areas. All butts are to be placed into the sand-filled buckets, ONLY. Smoking in any other location will be prohibited.
1. At the fire pit to the side of the tavern.
2. By the shed near the pavement outside the tavern entrance.
3. The fire pit in the player residential area.
4. By the crafter's building in the merchant area.

In the last few events, the enforcement of smoking rules has begun to be relaxed and more abuses have occurred.

Please remember to smoke only in designated areas. Moreover, there is no smoking indoors or directly in front of doors. Not only is it a health issue and safety concern, the smoke can set off smoke detectors which are hard wired into the Fire Department, and if they have to come, we are charged a fine by the camp. It will also disrupt game for an extended period of time.

Additionally, as is the rule, there is no smoking during combat. However, in recent events, this rule has been abused. Going forward, you MUST extinguish your cigarette immediately if there is combat within 20 feet of you. If you do not, you will take a Fatal effect which can be enforced by any marshall, NPC or PC in the area. You may not utilize any special defenses. Please remember this is for your safety and for the safety of those around you.
